Brisket and sausage – now that is what I call the breakfast of champions. You have to love an impromptu car trunk picnic — since I was there well before Meyer’s Elgin Smokehouse opened in Elgin, Texas just a short walk from Southside Market, also in Elgin. Fortunately they have drive-thru starting at 8am… The brisket was very tasty. But the sausage stole the show! Really good stuff! A worthwhile stop on a Houston to/from Austin road trip, even at breakfast time. BBQ is a breakfast food, right?
