I got to try out Iron Works BBQ again last week after a long absence while I was in Austin. There are lots of famous people with their faces on the wall, which is a good indication. They do have quite a bit going for them. But besides being in a historical location and in very convenient proximity to the Austin Convention Center, their brand of smoked meat was also very tasty. The brisket had a great flavor – with a super dark and tasty bark. The sausage had a great grind and flavor. And I was very happy with the creamed corn. Corn is a vegetable, right? Iron Works BBQ is certainly worth a visit if you are in and around downtown Austin.
