Someone not long ago asked me what I thought about a new BBQ place in Pinehurst. I just got a chance to go the other day and wanted to share. It’s called The Meating Place Barbecue & Bakery. I have to say – for only being open a month or so, I was impressed. This is real-deal BBQ. Both the lean and the fatty brisket were excellent – moist and with a very nice smoke ring. The jalapeño sausage was outstanding with a good grind and great flavor. I had their tater salad, which was great. And they offer two different coleslaws – one vinegar-based and one creamy. I can definitely recommend this place. It is worth the drive up to Pinehurst.
